Holiday performance!

* Room 3 families, we are deep into our rehearsals for the holiday performance next week.  Wednesday December 18th at 1:30pm is the grades 1-3 afternoon performance, directly after that is the grades 4/5 afternoon dress-rehearsal/performance.

* Thursday December 19th at 7pm is the grade 4/5 evening performance.  Students are asked to show up at the school by 6:15pm to get ready!

We cannot wait to see everyone out!  Get ready to groove with the music, and watch all the work our students have put into the show! Thank you - Ms.Long

The holidays are fast approaching...

Hello room 3 families.  We are about to embark on our last week of classes!  With that being said I would like to thank all of the families for their constant support and encouragement behind their childs learning.  It has been a pleasure having met you, and working alongside you.  Thank you.  I will be in contact with families via the blog, and remind 101 as to the December 20th class holiday party (with reference to goodies and food).

I would just like to give a great big THANK YOU To all the families that could make it out for open house student led conferences. Stevenson had a great turn out this term. Thank you!

Reminders for the week!

Hello rm.3 students and families!  A few reminders for this week:

- Monday November 25th is the last day for book orders (holiday packages).

- The last day for submitting picture re-take money and information is the morning of Friday November the 29th.

- The evening of Thursday November 28th from 4:30-7pm, as well as the morning of Friday November the 29th (until 11:00am) is Stevenson's open house. Come celebrate your child's learning. I look forward to seeing all those who can make it!

Report Cards

Tomorrow marks the first day of November!  That means report cards are right around the corner.  Please familiarize yourself with the new report card.  Visit, and explore the new report card template!

Hello room 3 families! 

There is no school tomorrow Friday October. 25th. 

Portrait payments are due October 31st, and our spirit week fundraiser starts Monday October 28th!

Spirit week & Stevenson fundraiser

Stevenson Britannia spirit week begins Monday October 28th and goes through to Friday November 1st.  

Monday - Sports jersey day! (Bring in a quarter)
Tuesday - October 29th is hat day! (Bring in a loonie).
 
Wednesday October 30th is crazy hair day (bring loonie).

Thursday October 31st is Halloween! (Bring a toonie)

Friday November 1st is pie day.  Bring in $5.00 and you can pie your teacher in the face!

It is that time of year... WINTER CONCERT! This years grade 4/5 musical is "Happy, The High-Tech Snowman."  Auditions begin this Thursday October 24th at lunch.

Mentorship club

Wednesday after school marked the first meeting for Mentorship Club.  We had a great first turn out! I would just like to add that we appreciated families getting forms back as quickly as they did.  Mentorship Club will be held everyday after school until 4:30pm for those who brought in their permission forms.  

Families!  We are beginning our human body unit in Science.  I have already collected several recycled food containers (ie. kraft dinner boxes, washed out yogurt containers etc). We will be looking at the nutritional value of the foods that we eat!  If there are any cleaned out food containers in your recycling - please allow students to bring them to class!

I am also collecting old, lonely crayons... If your family knows that they will not be needing them, have your child bring them in to class!  We will be working on a collective class creation of melting crayon art within the next month.  We would appreciate any crayons that we can get!

Thanksgiving

Room 3 families.  Today is the start of the long weekend.  I wish you all a very happy Thanksgiving. 

Reminder: *there is no school on Monday October 14th.  

*Tuesday October 15th is picture day, and also early dismissal.

*"Lifetouch" forms were sent home for families to choose the pose-set and background colours for photographs.  Please make sure that those forms are checked off and sent back to school on picture day.  Thank you.

The class made some wonderful artwork.  The assignment incorporated a  self portrait representation mixed with abstract "crazy hair", fine line, lettering and color.  

If you look closely..We embedded our names into our hair!
